The Kakum canopy walkway is seven bridges strung between emergent trees, about thirty metres above the forest floor. It takes roughly forty minutes at a comfortable pace.
We schedule this as an early start from Cape Coast — you are on the walkway before the coaches arrive, when the forest is still loud with birds. Guides from the park walk with the group and point out what most people miss at ground level.
Sensible shoes are essential; the approach trail is steep and often wet.
