This morning, you will take a city tour of Accra, the capital of Ghana, visiting the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, the National Museum, uniquely designed coffin shops, and the Arts and Crafts Market.

Departure after breakfast for Kumasi. Pass by several picturesque villages with beautiful examples of traditional Ghanaian buildings. Arrival and visit of Kumasi city by visiting the Manhyia Palace Museum. The museum was built by the British in 1925 to accommodate the Asantehene (leader of the Ashanti people) Prempeh I upon his return from exile in the Seychelles to resume his residence in Kumasi. It is now used as a museum.

Continue to visit the Prempeh II Jubilee Museum and the Okomfo Anokye Sword. Pass by Kumasi Central Market, one of the largest open-air markets in West Africa. Check-in at your hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax at your hotel.

After breakfast, visit a few Ashanti handicraft villages to watch the artisans at work and shop for souvenirs from the wide assortment of handicrafts on sale. This is a unique opportunity to buy souvenirs or gifts.

Depart Kumasi after breakfast for Elmina in the central region of Ghana. Stop en route to Assin Manso to visit the "Slave River" where captured Africans were washed before being locked up in slave castles awaiting their shipment to the Americas and the Caribbean. Continue to Mesomagor Village to see the Mesomagor Bamboo Orchestra at its best.

The orchestra revived traditional art, performing with bamboo percussion instruments to the rhythm of music and dance. This is an infectious dance performance that you haven't seen anywhere else.

In the morning, we will visit Elmina Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site built in 1482 by the Portuguese. This castle was the first European structure built in sub-Saharan Africa. Continue to visit Cape Coast Castle, home to the Historical Museum of West Africa, for a guided tour. Cape Coast Castle is another UNESCO World Heritage Site, which was built in 1652 by the Swedes. The castle is home to the infamous "Gate of No Return". The rest of the day is free to relax on the beach.

Depart Elmina after breakfast to visit Kakum National Park. Go for a morning walk on the "Kuntan Trail" with its countless trees with medicinal properties. For the youngest, check out the "Canopy Walkway" suspended 30 meters from the forest floor for panoramic views of the flora and fauna of the remaining remnants of the rainforest.

Depart for a scenic drive to Accra, the capital of Ghana. Pass by the village of Abandze, the ancestral home of Louis Armstrong, the famous American jazz musician. Arrive in Accra in the afternoon and the rest of the day is free for last minute shopping. The rest of the day is free to relax on the beach.
